Astronomers have analyzed a fascinating super-Earth planet orbiting a red dwarf star using JWST. Designated GJ 9827 d, the planet is twice the size of Earth and has an atmosphere made almost entirely of water vapor. This is not a habitable exoplanet, more like a steam world, but it's the first time anything like this has been observed. Most planetary atmospheres contain lighter elements, like hydrogen and helium, so seeing water vapor is an exciting development.
