nostr uses LN for zaps. There's no theoretical limit, but usually lightning nodes refuse to open channels greater than 0.1 BTC or so.
Also, lightning fees are measured in % of the amount, so sending 1 BTC via LN would be much more expensive than sending it on-chain.
