Fat shaming indeed does not work - people only change if they want to change and shaming will not be the impetus for change.
The people I’ve seen drop weight and keep it off have all done so after health issues and to one degree or another reckoning with their own mortality.
“I’ve never met an obese 80 year old” springs to mind - if you want to live to an old age, you’re going to have to internalise this yourself.
Israel lived to 38. America’s now-declining life expectancy *surely* has to do with their obesity rates finally catching up with the population and will continue until people take this into their own hands.
Sadly it seems too many are putting their faith in pharmaceuticals rather than actually taking responsibility for themselves.
