I'm not sure how well it works for me, let alone others, but my current approach is split between a "docs" directory in my dotfiles repository, and the issue tracker: https://gitlab.com/jokeyrhyme/dotfiles
Another thing I've thought of doing but haven't done so yet is to create a tracking issue in my dotfiles project to link to issues of interest (especially ones I've submitted myself) in upstream projects
I do want to embrace something more user friendly and notes-centric like Obsidian or Affine eventually, but that's also on the TODO list :)
