Do people still learn about thalidomide? It was prescribed to pregnant women for their morning sickness and apparently it solved that problem really well.
Thalidomide has chirality, which means it can have a mirror image of itself that twists the other way. Well, some of the drug started turning out backwards and that was the cause of the term "flipper baby"
So i fear this mirror lifeform they want to invent. I think its functional proteins could interrupt our existing biological functions in ways we haven't convinced of yet. I think it would be devastating hubris to attempt to create this "mirror" biology.
