Unpopular opinion: Nostr users and influencers aren’t doing themselves a favor with the constant purity tests and true scotsmanship. It just alienates anyone trying to start a business.
Yes, the KYC on X suck, but it’s still the best way to build a marketing funnel and build traction. I’m trying my best to leverage Nostr and learn what its strengths/weeknesses are as a marketing tool, but first impression is it’s a mixed bag. Conversation with an experienced marketing person who was kind enough to mentor me this week confirmed that. I’m open to constructive feedback and suggestions as to what I’m missing though.
And yes, a newsletter sucks. But email is still one of the best ways to communicate with customers. If used wisely it’s a powerful tool and can be valuable for both sides.
And yes, Apple’s monopoly sucks. But iOS users still pay the most for software. Android users simply don’t pay for apps and buy subscriptions as much. I hope Zapstore offers new models to monetize Android (and AOSP) and I will keep shilling it because of that.
But if you aren’t offering solutions to these problem and just dunking on people doing their best to build something, you’re honestly just part of the problem.
