The rule I had for myself was to create everything using my SP404 MK2 and a few instruments. There wasn't a use of any DAW or audio software on a computer outside of mastering I applied at the end. As I recorded and performed everything I improvised each part and after a single take I used what I made. I kept the process moving and got as many songs as I could done.
