Planting trees can be a practice of cultivating faith in humanity.
I will never taste some of the fruits of my labor, such as voluminous production of pecans from the seedlings I planted in the shady understory, or acorns from the oak saplings I hold dear.
On the other hand, the unseeable, unholdable, but very real fruits of my labor are already emotionally and spiritually nourishing my heart as I learn to love us complicated humans (with our flaws).
With that heartset I plant trees in honor of future generations.
Trees, collectively speaking, are living examples of an energetic savings bank we can all contribute to.
Unlike lifeless financial capital, trees offer natural dividends to both future generations and the ecosystem as a whole as a result of actions grounded in multi-generational thinking.
It's not so much about gifting generational natural capital to our offspring or bloodline so that they can have natural wealth after we are gone, its more about gifting love and intention to future generations of all the children of this beautiful Earth...
We Earthlings, we Earth children of all ages, are all of one heart, eating from one tree—The Tree of Life.
