When I switched from Unity to Godot, I knew I'd be giving up a few things. Almost as much as I would have gained when switching to Unreal instead.
But that wasn't really the point. The point was to gain ownership over my own game. And I don't have that with Unreal either. The only way to get that is with a proper FOSS engine or making one yourself.
