I spend an hour and a half trying to get this working. The account she uses for FaceTime was not the account I called and they took time to figure out. Then there are a bunch of settings you need to allow on macOS. You have to do all of that from a phone using WhatsApp so it takes over your mic and speskers you need to use to explain these things.

All these things we take for granted are not there for folks who never used it... I keep being reminded of that.
