it isn't complete without other features, this is one of the reasons why the access control system i made for #realy allows read/write access to all of the follows of all of the follows of the administrator "owner" npubs designated in the config
this makes it possible for clients that support nip-65 outbox and nip-42 auth to publish their replies and dms to you directly to the relays you have specified you look for them on
if this is still a problem these days it's because those two nips are poorly supported by the most popular clients, as far as i know primal, damus and amethyst all support auth but i think damus and primal are a bit spotty with their outbox implementation
