I decided to have a look at Sentinel Explorer now that a little more than a week has passed since the Maui fires initially broke out. I used the SWIR bands to better visualize the extent of the damage. Sentinel had imagery for the 8th of August which was the day the fires started and again on the 13th.

Here is Lahaina and the burn scars are very obvious.
