I do crosswords in the Puzzler magazine but one of the contributors is either ignorant or deliberately annoying because his clues have always been questionable. EG:

CLUE: sleeper ANS earring
CLUE: dismal ANS sombre
CLUE: impractical ANS idealist
CLUE: estranged ANS lonely
CLUE: downcast ANS abject
CLUE: resentment ANS envy
CLUE: ribbon ANS rosette

He has me groaning every time.
