nugger (npub159f…vg75) Granwalder (npub1w8h…wwdw) mushroom soup (npub1jm4…83x3) Gambusia Affinis is a small North American freshwater fish commonly known as the Mosquitofish. It’s invasive in much of the world, but it’s a particularly fertile species so well known for its role as a mosquito predator that the specific reason they’re so globally invasive was specifically to control mosquito populations. Remember though that like most insects, Mosquitoes practice predator satiety, you are extremely unlikely to totally eradicate your local population with permaculture, but you can reduce it.
A trick is to have many medium bodies of water, of several gallons all of which are populated by mosquitofish. Mosquitos will produce up to 10 broods in their lifetime, and due to wandering these will be in multiple locations. You can further control the buggers population by tricking them into wasting effort on bodies of water the mosquitofish will totally depopulate, rather than mostly depopulate.
