That being, the actions you take have good, justifiable reasons rather than giving poor excuses or "thinking it's cool" or whatever.

This is often why young "hotshot" programmers can be very intelligent, but also make bafflingly poor decisions because they wanted to justify using their hot new Piss & Shit Framework that ends up fucking everything up. I suppose that can be counted as part of background knowledge, but I think it's a bit distinct because there's an infinite stream of Piss & Shit Frameworks but eventually you just calm down and lose the enthusiasm to try them all.
