Apple is one of the top 5 most valuable private-sector entities in the history of civilization. Of course they are beholden to their shareholders and growth: it is what they are most notable for and successful at. I’m kind of losing my mind reading people argue that Apple should make macOS Settings better instead of investing in AI. We all participate in the system that creates these incentives. It’s so… boring to pretend we don’t, and to have shallow conversations detached from reality.
