It is so full of corny patriotism and painfully earnest monologues and treats NASA and those who ran it with such reverence that somebody who thinks that money is better spent on social programs (Walter Mondale) is treated like a villain.
Ron Howard has a lot of bad instincts as a filmmaker or producer, and they are all on display here.
