The "Z" and "V" symbols have a complicated history in #Russia β€” originally taken from 24 February 2022 tactical markings of different invasion columns, they promptly became the new "patriotic symbols". Plenty of Russian drivers posted them on their cars, Russian military channels replaced the respective Cyrillic letters with Z and V to highlight their allegiance. People were arrested for even removing the Z-banners, whose stylistycs often coincided with German swastika.

Gradually, the trend withered away as reality of the war caught up and stupidity of "we can repeat Berlin!" sabre rattling became rather evident. Some "Z-patriots" even reported their cars were vandalized.

Now it seems the "Z" stylistics seems to be returning in paraphrase: a growing movement of soldiers' mothers and wives, calling for their return from the front line, started to display stickers with their demands. Using the Z stylistics is actually quite smart, as on on hand it displays their allegiance while allowing them to say what they want.

Whether this is going to change in Russian society is unknown, as its passivity seems to be rock solid, but the trend is interesting.
