So i set up Signal today because I am interested in having encrypted communications but then I found a rabbit hole where many said Signal is bad and from what I could elucidate from the flurry of technospeak the top recommendation for private chats was #xmpp. Since I am on iOS, I queried the app store and found Monal, an XMPP interface/client/whatever. Anyone out there that can advise an Old about this stuff? New to #fediverse need tech for community but corpos are evil pls help thx!
