He is/was on the board, but it's not clear what that means in terms of his ability to exert any control b/c their governing documents aren't public as far as I know. On a personal level, he's said he doesn't really like BlueSky and he seems to spend his social media time on Nostr.

Anyway, plenty of reasons not to use BlueSky if one prefers not to, just not sure that's one of them.
