Reader: I cannibalised him. I mean it, I cannibalised it.
All working fine, the 8110 is sat running my 2M packet node right now and I connected in from another laptop and 2M HT using direwolf. And at 25 Watts in such a light radio I'll be using this for SOTA too. It cost me 22 quid. TWENTY TWO. Minus power and fist mic, but even so.
