Long story short I've just reached out / volunteered to do some food bank work in my spare time. However. I know nothing about it and my friend who does it is a bit far away from me. So she's told me to just look closer to home. I've done a perfunctory search and of course (something I didn't anticipate because I am an idiot) it's all churches. I think I am capable of shutting the fuck up and helping people as part of a church-driven thing but who to choose. One of the options is the Salvation Army who are FUCKING TERRIBLE antigays. So fuck them. But also....... I'm pretty sure all of the churches are terrible bigots and also I hate what they stand for and fuck them and I disagree with them all at a molecular level. So.... What do I do? What is a church I can associate with to do good, that is fundamentally bad? What do the Baptists believe in? I don't even know! I need a religion where I can go undercover and do nice things whilst disagreeing with their fundamental principles and also not propagating their bigotry into the universe. Is this possible?
