"summary",
"Dame Esther Rantzen, who has joined Dignitas, an assisted dying clinic in Switzerland, after a terminal lung cancer diagnosis, has spoken out in favor of a new law that would allow terminally ill adults to have a medically-assisted death in the UK. The proposed law, known as the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill, would allow adults expected to die within six months to seek help to end their life, with the approval of two doctors and a High Court judge. Dame Esther believes that the current laws in the UK are 'terrible' and 'cruel' because they force people to travel to Switzerland alone to die, and she wants to protect other families from 'the same agonising experience'."
