I own a Veritas Combination Plane, and it can be used (mostly) with either hand. I suspect the 45 will work mostly the same, in that as long as you keep the fence where it was designed to be, it’s usable, but not especially comfortable for a lefty. The Veritas can have the fence moved to the other side, and is then good for lefties. The skewed combination plane (the 46 and 47 dado plane) are not very suitable for lefties.
