This is not an interesting or thoughtful notion, but yes. What I'm saying is, if Biden wants to actually win, he needs to tack left, because the American Dem-voting electorate is far to the left of the Democratic party. Instead, on immigration, Biden is doing that thing that lost Hilary the nomination in 08 and the Presidency in 2016: trying to please a dwindling and largely imaginary squishy middle voter. It's considered somehow "pragmatic". In fact, it's political suicide. And with the border issue, claiming to want to "fix the border problem" just abandons the field to the worst people in American politics. There is no immigration problem. That is the reality. The Dems should try saying what's true for a change, instead of just compulsively surrendering. It will help them get elected. If that's what they really want. But maybe corporate Dems are like the Blairites in UK Labour, who demonstrated that they would rather lose than win with left wing policies.
