I like holding shares in private companies, especially if I can control it.
But I haven't owned any public ETFs since 2020. I don't think it's a bad idea to hold some for diversification (like VT or VTI ) but I see them as an inferior form of money/SoV that will lose to BTC over the long run so I find it hard to buy them. I also like having unilateral control over my money. After living in multiple countries, I find it very valuable to be able to take my wealth with me wherever I go without having to file any paperwork. These are just my personal views though and probably not right for most people.
