# UnGoogled Chromium
UnGoogled Chromium is probably the best Chromium based browser, because it does not spy on you at all.

You can [get it via Flatpak](https://flathub.org/apps/details/com.github.Eloston.UngoogledChromium).
By default, UnGoogled-Chromium doesn't keep websites from spying and tracking. You must add script blockers, such as uBlock Origins, and/or NoScript. Install the AdBlock Plus extension also.

## How to Manually Install Extensions Into UnGoogled Chromium
To manually install extensions into UnGoogled-Chromium, do the following
1. In UnGoogled-Chromium, get your Chromium Version.
i. Click the three-dot menu
ii. Write down the Version number
(i.e. 96.0.4664.93)
2. In Brave Browser, go to [Chrome Webstore](https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/extensions)
3. Search for the extension you want. Copy everything after last forward slash "/" in the URL.
If the URL is:

```
You copy:
```
lmjnegcaeklhafolokijcfjliaokphfk
```
4. In URL below
- i. Replace [VERSION] with step 1 Version.
- ii. Replace [EXTENSION_ID] with step 3 ID.
- iii. Save the .crx file

5. In UnGoogled-Chromium, drag and drop the .crx file into the chrome://extensions/ webpage.

Many things do not work in UnGoogled-Chromium. This is done intentionally to stop spyware. The FAQ has instructions for enabling features like Chromecast, Widevine CDM, if you want, but it's probably best to use another browser for that.
