I just want to make note that Military and government's oath is to defend the King of the United Kingdom.

I, [name], do swear that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to His Majesty King Charles the Third, King of Canada, his heirs and successors. So help me God.
No different than 1776 when USA went to war against the British monarchy. Canadians have the right to chose who's side to fight for.
