A big problem I am facing is that I am still in the "artist" phase of LeatherMint.
My goal was never to be an artist but to run a business offering good products. But here are 2 reasons I know it is not the case yet.
1) I am still having to find my official line of products. Right now I am looking for myself. This means finding the models of products I like to offer as well as the leather types and weight I will use
2) I craft on order. Meaning I do not start to work until I have an order. 2 reasons for that. The first one is that I usually don't have the capital to start a large production. The second is I hesitate to do so as I fear wasting materials I could use on a future order.. which again is a problem of capital.
The problem of that way of doing is that it takes a lot of time before I can fulfill my orders which dosen't appear serious. Again it's more artist like.
Once I have these 2 problems fixed (an official product line and a stock to ship within 2-3 business day) then I believe I will be able to call it a respectable business.
Tl;dr: LeatherMint is an artist but the plan is to build *The* LeatherMint which is a business.
