Half term is over. The bulk of the tourists have gone. Today, I visited the beach.

I heard the sea
… instead of music blaring from someone’s portable speakers
I walked on the sand
… without picking up litter or watching out for broken glass
I smelt and tasted the brine
… instead of cigarettes, vapes and bbqs
I saw and enjoyed this idyllic spot
… because the bin-stagrammers getting their shots had gone home
