the hype tends to assume it will just drop in our lap, any time now, if enough money is thrown at it, instead of first having to develop a lot of base physics to be able to understand and manipulate matter at that scale, having the right properties, first
also the narrative around it kind changed from the 90's, it always used to be this kind of holy grail that would solve all humanity's problems, now all everyone is worrying about is their encryption being cracked 😀
