And I totally get it that #Mastodon does not have ads and doesn't sell user data. I'm just too accustomed to free social media and I have no problems with ads/selling user data etc. But I am worried about potentially shutting down some day because of a lack of funding.

I avoid all kinds of subscriptions like a plague safe for Amazon Prime Video that's 7€/mo.
