I wonder if you could somehow automate off-the-radar recommendations or users and posts?
This is sort of what I was thinking of for an improved 'trending' posts. Currently trending posts are showing the most followed accounts, even their boring posts because of read-receipts. Trending could take follower count into consideration. So a small account with 15 likes is considered more than a huge account with 15 likes.
