I think you're onto something as well. In addition to the possible ableism, I also think that there's some big money in the 'natural' health business, using homeopathic solutions. I'm not saying that all of the homeopathic solutions are ineffective but I suspect they make some folks feel as though they're in control of their own health and the people making money from the genre deliberately press that button.
