“What I find most remarkable about them was the foresight to be able to identify the role that they played in all this. It was all new to them. They didn’t have all this history behind them that we do. They were the ones who had to write the history. And they somehow were able to recognize that they were tasked with being the stewards of a world they themselves would never actually get to see.
“It’s kind of heartbreaking in that sense. They sacrificed the rewards of their courage and conviction for us. They must have been so tempted to do something - to do anything at all. But they had the foresight to know their purpose was to HODL and teach our mothers and our fathers the importance of what they would inherit and hope and pray that they’d continue the legacy they’d begun.
“They were right when everyone else told them they were wrong. I can only imagine how hard it was to have the conviction they had without any of the evidence we all take for granted today. And when the world that everyone else thought would never change collapsed, they didn’t even gloat. They didn’t even really celebrate. They could have done anything they wanted with the wealth they rightly earned and instead they held most of it. They held it for us. They were wealthy people who lived normal lives so that we could build the world we wanted with the money they passed down to us.”
