Who are these people who are born to do a specific thing? What is in their souls that lets them be so utterly fulfilled by activities or vocations like painting, writing, hiking, or taking care of others, to name a few?

I feel like I'm born just to be alive, and I wonder if even that sometimes. Sure, I have many interests, and I enjoy most of them, but none of them complete me. I'm like an amoeba with hobbies. I eat, I excrete, I rest, and I do something fun. And I do it again, and again, but there's nothing transcendent about it.

I'm jealous of people who have a calling.
