It looks like the over-55s have got a drink problem
many, it seems, who's started drinking more alcohol (at home) during lockdown have been unable to scale back & as a result liver disease diagnosis has risen swiftly in that age group; at the very same time that under 35s are adopting a no-drinking lifestyle.
The drinks sector is profiting from a product that causes illness, while to some extent (drink is quite highly taxed) passing the cost onto taxpayers.
