I really don't care if the price ever goes up as long as Bitcoin holds value. After a lifetime of having been stolen from, I want a an honest financial vehicle for my children, so they don't suffer lifetimes of theft.
This newly discovered/invented base level protocol called Bitcoin IS a base layer of predictable value for humans. It's so valuable, it can't really ever be priced.
Price is a current distraction, that in the game theory of the network growth will be beneficial. However, Price in $USD means nothing in the big game.
