Algorithmic feeds aren't necessarily bad (although they certainly can be). BlueSky has done a pretty good job on how they separate them in the UI and treat them as lists. Both Mastodon and Pleroma and others have lists already, and and the algorithmic feed can be treated like a list too. As long as the user has control over the types of algorithmic feeds they use, there isn't much of a problem. Algorithmic feeds can increase usage of the #Fediverse by highlighting interesting posts that otherwise you might miss. I like to check both the algorithmic feed and the regular feed on BlueSky. What I don't like is how X sortof forces a proprietary and gamed algorithmic feed on me by default, but #Fediverse implementations don't need to do that. They can do it better.
