0 Doctors, 0 Midwives, 0 OB-GYNs, 0 Ultrasounds, 0 Doulas - Just me and him. We created the baby by ourselves so bringing baby out by ourselves feels very fitting.
I am f r e e b i r t h i n g meaning an unassisted childbirth without medical professionals…at home, undisturbed & for me without a birth keeper, family, friends, etc. Only the father of baby & I. This is also my first time EVER giving birth so I’m taking a leap of faith here that my body is completely capable of handling spontaneous physiological delivery.
No doctor’s appointments has been extremely relaxing. I tried to get a non-invasive prenatal blood test to find out the gender at 11 weeks, but the OB-GYN basically yeeted me out the door when I told her I wouldn’t get an ultrasound. So we just decided to make the gender a surprise & not find out.
Funny thing is, this aligned perfectly with my original vision. From the moment I took a home pregnancy test it was like the baby spoke to me: “have me in the bath water, take it easy, I will find my way”.
Almost exactly to the day of conceiving 2 years prior i decided to ditch my hormonal birth control pills & then my body reminded me… it was time.
I cried when I finally decided to take the leap of sovereign birth - it felt so beautiful & aligned with who I am today. Everything I have been through has led me here!
Take a moment to observe all of the synchronicities in your life & they will tenfold. Happy Mother’s Day ⛅️
