My frustration is that my batteries were requiring most of the day to charge and I wasn't finding any documentation recommending that I purchase a power supply to speed things up.

I did today and the first battery I charged took about an hour, as I had originally expected.

Thanks for sharing this info. It sounds like this situation is known to others, I just didn't understand it myself.
