looking to move my instance into a self-hosted environment. I figure the frontend will be a microvm out some place useful, wireguarded / tailscaled back into my local environment.

I have two options for outbound traffic. Route it all out that edge node or let the outbound traffic happen naturally via the local network. The former is obviously more work than the latter. But I'm concerned that the fediverse might get grumpy at outbound requests for my instance are coming from (a) someplace different than the instance (b) a home IP.

Any self-hosted admins have thoughts / experiences there?
