Hey! š
Another #introduction post for you to scroll through.
Iām Karl, a software engineer (just a developer) working atĀ ar.io, where weāre building a decentralized network of #Arweave gateways.
Iāve always been into decentralized and P2P software. I gave Nostr a try before, but at that time, I didnāt fully see all the possibilities it has now. When I first tried it about a year ago, I liked how it worked, but it felt like it was full of Bitcoin people, and Iām not really into it. Nothing against it.Ā Iām even using Primal wallet now, and I bought some sats so I can zap around like a cool guy! š
This time around, though, itās a totally different experience. Thereās so much more happening now! More people are building cool apps and features, thereās way more content to check out, and honestly, it feels like home.Ā
What really draws me to Nostr is the freedom it offers. Being able to consume what I want, host my own content, distribute it to other relays, experiment with different kinds of content, and keep things simple, itās all super exciting to me š
Beyond building decentralized software, Iām really into self-hosting. I run my own services for personal stuff, like file storage, DNS servers for my domains, and even my own Arweave gateway. In fact, Iām already hosting my own personal Nostr relay and thinking about building a Blossom and/or NIP-96 server to store data in Arweave.
Oh, and I have pet snakes! š So expect some #snake #pet pics from me every now and then.
Thatās all for now, thanks for reading!
