Point #3 really hits home. As a lifelong developer of 40+ years(Gawd that dates me) I understand that as a personality type we don't often like to talk about ourselves. We come from a "proof is in my work" I don't have to tell people point of view. However, telling people you what you can do for them is important since it helps you formulate in your own mind what you can offer and is critical to enabling others to help you as well.
