Okay, took me a while to realize the issue here as this wouldn't boot up. Turns out the answer is in this shot (can you spot it?)

Hints: it wasn't the jumper settings on the adapter, and the succesful chime means nothing 😉

EDIT: I should have been clearer here, the shot shown is actually *after* I resolved the issue. Before this, I simply got a chime and... nothing else. No sync, no disk icon, no boot - nothing.
