Podcast Addict is also the only app on my phone that will let me stream a video from a URL, and then lock the phone and put it in my pocket while it plays. Other apps, like MPV, won't play in the background.
I guess the real downside is that it is not open source. I wanted to go that way, especially for an app that requires internet access.
