I'm glad yesterday's shift was a LOT better than I thought it might be. Had a few moments where it got hairy (one manager was just in the worst mood, but I can't blame her because she was exhausted). But mostly folks took things in stride.
Also had my work-brother with me up front most of the time, which hadn't really happened before (we were hired the same day & he's almost 20 yrs younger, so we crack jokes in short bursts to lighten the tension on crap days).
Today things will be almost normal w/ customer volume & more folks opening up. And it means curbside is opening again (groan). I can handle delivery drivers--they come up to me & let me know what they need. With curbside, I can't see the ETA screen through the brick wall, so I don't know who is coming til they march up to me and complain.
Fingers crossed that I get dedicated help for it b/c I can't pay them the proper attention when I have 5 people in front of me expecting service. Stressful as hell, & Sundays are the worst.
