Since 2019, there's been a switch.
Russia and China are seemingly less communistic and fascist than the West. In fact they're open to trade, expansion, localised prosperity and even capitalist tendency (ahem, oligarchs and the elitist)
Remember prior to 2019, how they mocked and jeered China for using AI, facial detection, scan to pay etc. but look how they implement it now
COVID dissidents were quashed. Ukrainian war dissidents crushed and money from regular civilians seized.
Speak out against Israel and you are arrested. The UK arrested, at minimum 4000 individuals for social media posts. Russia arrested 405 during their lockdown on dissidents on Ukraine.
Democratic and freedom loving? Right now, in UK prisons, people are sitting there for POSTING ON SOCIAL MEDIA.
Not sure how/why westerners are looking over this tbh, and now look
