i think a lot of problem with [pseudo-]left things is that the core idea behind a lot of it--once removing the psychosis, gang bullying and other insanities--amounts to grilling enthusiasm.
so it's not like people actually want to sit there and close the hospitals or whatever, but they don't want every waking moment of their day to be hearing people bitch about how the hospitals don't match some super ideal (also the super ideal has varying degrees of reasonable to unhinged.)
so people don't really want to mount a counter campaign because grilling enthusiasm is pretty neat, but they're tired of the endless emotional blackmail about it.
