People stricken with #polio were placed in “iron lungs” to be able to breathe & hopefully survive. My Godmother, at age 19, spent 1 week in an iron lung & survived, but she was left with a limp & weakened health & energy the rest of her life. I’m fully vaccinated for polio & everything else & so are all my kids & grandkids.
